Sergi Darder: Celta Vigo lodge €11m bid to beat Real Mallorca in race for Espanyol captain
Celta Vigo have tabled an €11m offer for Espanyol captain Sergi Darder, moving to outpace Real Mallorca. The 29-year-old can leave for €10m or on loan with his salary covered after Espanyol’s relegation. Rafael Benítez sees Darder as a key midfield piece, especially if Gabri Veiga departs. Barcelona and Almería have also tracked him, with Mallorca still a serious contender.
